Basic Rules for Arranging Shoes and Bags

Shoes and bags go hand in hand when it comes to setting the tone for a set. On the other hand, it is not always easy to know how to arrange them! Here is a small practical guide to getting there easily.

THE BAG AND THE SILHOUETTE

The bag must match your morphology and can be a good ally to rig the latter. First, be aware that the bag draws attention to where it is placed. Avoid placing it on a part of the body that you want to hide. For example, if you have wide hips, do not opt for a long bag, and if you have a big chest, do not carry a  bag under your arm. It is also better to choose a  bag whose shape is the opposite of that of your silhouette. So, if you're round, go for a square or rectangular bag. If you are small, it is advisable not to wear big bags, which crushes the silhouette.

ON AGENCY OR NOT?

It is true that it has already been important to coordinate the handbag and the shoes. But today, it is perfectly acceptable to wear wholesale shoes that are not perfectly matched to our bag,  but that complement it well. It even shows a lot of styles! For a harmonious wedding,  vary the color, the material or both, while remaining in the same style (for example, avoid the sports bag and the pumps!).

MASSIVE OR PATTERN

Wear your shoe patterned with a plain colored bag complementary to the pattern. The massive shoe advantage to be worn as a bag of size average. When your bag or shoe has metallic embellishments, make sure all the metals in your outfit (bag, shoes, and jewelry) have the same finish.

LIGHT

With shoes that capture attention, the important thing is to balance the ensemble with a classic bag of neutral color. The opposite applies too! With a  pair of black or gray shoes, you can opt for a vibrant color bag. For those wishing to invest in a pair of shoes or a quality bag that will fit with everything, choose a  neutral color such as gray, black, beige, taupe, cream or brown.

EVENING

It is only for bags or cheap backpacks and evening shoes that it is better to choose the same material and the same shade for both accessories. Since dresses are often more loaded and showy, attention is kept on the garment and the accessories are coordinated with the fabric, pattern, and style of the garment. If your outfit is sober, you can afford an ornate shoe or bag that will act as a central accessory to the look.

COLOR

You can arrange complementary colors such as purple and yellow or the same kind, as here, pastel colors. It is best not to wear more than three vibrant colors in one set. Match your bag and colorful shoes with neutral colored clothing. The fact of wearing accessories recalling the colors of the bag and shoes will complement your look while adding style. Be creative!

MINIMALIST

A minimalist shoe, of neutral color and style, goes with everything. You can bet on a bag more light. For patterned bags, consider balancing them with a shoe in one of the basic colors present in the pattern. However, you can afford to wear neutral-colored prints, such as leopard or zebra, with a vibrant and complementary color such as red.
